Day 1

Arrive Kochi’s international airport, bet met and greeted and be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to relax in your hotel or explore the city.

Day 2

After breakfast proceed for a tour of Kochi City.

Visit the Spice Market and the historic Jewish Synagogue (closed on Fridays & Saturdays), with its Cantonese tiled floors, fine chandeliers, and the Great Scrolls from the Old Testament. Stroll through the Jewish Quarter, browsing at fine antique shops, and warehouses creaking with bric-a-brac.

Day 3

After breakfast drive to Thekkady (approx 190kms, 5 hours).

Thekkady is a small town with its unending chains of hills and spice-scented plantations is famous for the Periyar Wildlife Reserve, noted for its geomorphology, diverse wildlife and beautiful landscape.

Day 4

This morning, proceed for a Boat cruise on the Lake of the famous Periyar wildlife sanctuary to see wild life. Periyar is an artificial lake or reservoir created by a dam on Periyar River. It is the heart of the 777 sq km Wildlife Sanctuary where wild elephants, Asiatic Deer, Black Buck and even Tigers come to shores of the lake for a drink.

Day 5

Kumarakom is an unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests, emerald green paddy fields and coconut groves interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals adorned with white lilies. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, and this small water world is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favourite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologists paradise. Egrets, darters, herons, teal, waterfowl, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian stork that live there in flocks are a fascination for visitors.  The best way to watch the birds of the Kumarakom sanctuary is a boat trip round the islands.

Day 6

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then check out and embark onto one of the traditional houseboats called Kettuvallams.

Kettuvallams or Houseboats (Rice boats) are country boats that were used in the early days for the transportation of goods from the isolated interior villages to the towns. With the advent of roads, bridges and ferry services, gradually the Kettuvallams went off the scene and now these

Day 7

Breakfast in your hotel and then enjoy the morning at leisure.

In the afternoon drive to Kochi (approximately 65kms, 1.5 hours) and enjoy the afternoon at leisure relaxing in your hotel, or exploring the city.
