Day 1 IMPHAL
Welcome on arrival at Imphal Airport, Manipur’s
Capital city. Evening free for leisure. Overnight in Imphal.
Day 2 IMPHAL
Today we take you for a cultural tour of the
city covering monuments, temples and ceremonial places highlighting Imphal’s rich
past. Visit the Kangla shrine (revered by the Meitei people), Govindajee
Temple, War Cemetery & the Khwairamband Bazaar (a local market run by
mothers). Overnight in Imphal.
Day 3 IMPHAL – KEIBUL LAMJAO NATIONAL PARK - IMPHAL
Visit the Keibul Lamjao National Park (the only floating park in the world). It is the last natural habitat of the marsh dwelling brow-antlered deer locally called ‘Sangai’. Cross by the local villages as you go to see the Sadu Chiru waterfall and the Japanese war memorial, which reflects the history of the Second World War.
Drive to Moirang , the ancient capital of the Manipuri Kings. It is also the centre of Meithei culture. Visit Loktak Lake and Sendra Island (a hillock Island with mesmerizing views of the Loktak lake). Loktak Lake is the largest fresh water lake in the North East. Watch the unique floating islands ‘Phumdi’ that are actually floating weeds on which people live ! Overnight in Imphal.
Day 4 DEPARTURE
In time transfer to Airport for onward journey.
