Day 1 Arrive Chennai

Chennai, the gateway of south India has varied culture and one of the four major cities of India. Today you will visit National Art Gallery, Fort Museum, Santhome Cathedral, Kapaleeswara temple.

Day 2 Chennai / Mahabalipuram / Pondicherry (115 kms)

After an early morning breakfast leave for Pondicherry, enroute visit Mahabalipuram - a beautiful place lies on the Coromandel coast which faces the Bay of Bengal known for its Shore Temple Later in the afternoon drive to Pondicherry - on arrival check into the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 Pondicherry / Tanjore (180 kms)

After breakfast check out and drive to Tanjore while visiting a local sightseeing tour of Pondicherry. Pondicherry, known as ‘The French Riviera of the East’, was a French colony until it was integrated into India as a Union territory in 1954. The town still remarkably preserves its French heritage in its many colonial monuments, cuisines, language, customs and traditions. Places of tourist interest include the Sree Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, The French Institute and the Raj Nivas. On arrival Tanjore, check-in into hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Tanjore - Trichy - Tanjore

After breakfast at the hotel and then depart for our morning tour of Tanjore, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a fascinating and superb monument with 250 linga, and the names of dancers, musicians and poets inscribed on the walls. The inner sanctum houses a 4m high lingam while above it is a 13 story tower reaching 66m up into the sky. The palace complex is a beautifully kept labyrinth of halls, corridors and courtyards housing the Royal Palace Museum. Also visit Trichy – sightseeing of Srirangam & Rock fort Temple. Later come back to hotel in Tanjore and overnight stay.

Day 5 Tanjore / Madurai (135 kms)

After breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Madurai; on arrival check-in into hotel. Rest of the day is at your disposal to enjoy at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 Madurai

After breakfast, proceed for a whole day sightseeing tour of Madurai. The temple town of Madurai, situated on the banks of river Vaigai, is one of the most ancient cities in India with a history dating back to the pre-Christian times. It was the imperial capital of the Pandyan Empire in the 14th Century AD. Madurai was the seat of Tamil learning and the last of the Tamil Sangams (Academies) was held here nearly 2000 years ago. Places of tourist interest include the imposing Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal, Gandhi Museum, Vaigai Dam, Thirupparankundrum, Athisayam Water Theme Park, Azhagar Koil and the Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam. Return for an overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 Madurai / Thekkady (Periyar) (115 kms)

After breakfast leave for Periyar in the morning and transfer to hotel on arrival. You may opt for a pleasant boat ride along the Periyar Lake in the evening. Enjoy watching varied birds and animals like tigers, elephants, wild boar, deer, etc at the Periyar/Thekkady National Park. You can also visit a few tribal villages around Periyar and witness fascinating activities of tribals collecting honey from dangerous hill bees. Return to hotel at night.

Day 8 Thekkady (Periyar)

Today, you may opt for a pleasant boat ride along the Periyar Lake in the evening. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 9 Thekkady (Periyar) / Kumarakom (78 kms)

Leave for Kumarakom of Kerala Tour Itinerary. Check in at backwater resort on arrival. Spend the rest of the day at leisure at the picturesque backwaters that form one of the major attractions of Kerala. Overnight at the resort.

Day 10 Kumarakom / Alleppey (26 kms)

Morning embark the House boat for overnight stay. Enjoy the stay on House boat passing through the Canal and coconut grooves. Overnight House Boat stay.

Day 11 Alleppey / Cochin (53 kms)

Today check-out from the houseboat and drive to Cochin, on arrival check-in to Hotel. Tour to visit the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, & St. Francis Church. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 12 Cochin / Depart

Today check-out and drive to Cochin airport for your flight back home.
